Cortaid is an over the counter medication used to relieve symptoms of itching and redness/inflammation of the skin. Cortaid belongs to a group of drugs called topical corticosteroids. Topical corticosteroids work by reducing the body's inflammatory response, which helps reduce the redness and itching associated with minor skin irritations. 

Cortaid comes in a cream form, and is usually applied 2-4 times daily. 

Common side effects of Cortaid include burning, dryness, and changes in coloration of the skin.
