Cefadroxil is an antibiotic and treats infection. Finish taking all of your medication. Even if you feel better, do not stop taking medication unless your doctor tells you to stop.

Cefadroxil is a prescription medication used to treat infections of the urinary tract, skin, and throat. Cefadroxil belongs to a group of drugs called cephalosporin antibiotics. These work to kill bacteria.

This medication comes as an oral (by mouth) tablet, capsule, and liquid (suspension). It is usually taken 1 to 2 times a day, with or without food. If cefadroxil causes an upset stomach, take cefadroxil with food or milk.

Common side effects of cefadroxil include nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea.
