Things You Can Do Today to Feel Better Tomorrow

Eat Healthily

Eating a well balanced diet can help you manage your weight, keep your immune system strong and maintain bone health. A healthy diet should consist of lots of fruits and vegetables, whole grains, lean protein and good fats. Work with your doctor or a dietitian to develop a diet individualized to you and your potential health risks. For example, if you have high blood pressure, you should minimize your salt intake. If you have diabetes, you should watch your carbohydrate intake. If you have irritable bowel syndrome, gradually increasing the amount of fiber in your diet, by eating whole grains, beans and vegetables, could be beneficial. Those who have overactive bladder should avoid bladder irritating foods and drinks, such as alcohol, caffeine and spicy foods.
