Managing ADHD with Medication
First things first: it’s critical that you take your ADHD medication as directed by your doctor. This will help maximize your medication’s effectiveness, and minimize potential side effects and risks. It’s important to research your medication as well, so that you know what side effects to look for and what types of substances should be avoided. People are typically started on a low dosage which is adjusted as needed, so it’s important to be patient. It is important not to stop taking your medication suddenly to avoid possible withdrawal symptoms. Ask your pharmacist or doctor any medication questions you may have.
