How Sex Affects Your Health
STDs are infections that can be spread through sexual contact. There are over 20 distinct STDs that vary in symptoms, prognosis, treatability and prevalence. HIV is among the more serious STDs due to the lack of treatment options and its effects on the immune system. If you are sexually active and experiencing unusual symptoms, it is important to visit your doctor as soon as possible.
